HOW DOES STERL STAT WORK?
The mode of action is both physical and chemical. The physical effect is created by varying surface tension. Sterl STAT
contains a polydimethylsiloxane based polymer which has a low surface tension and is hydrophobic and further components
of relatively higher surface tension. This facilitates an alternating surface tension with hydrophobic and hydrophilic sites in
close proximity. Such a surface makes it difficult for micro-organisms to settle and produce a biofilm. The biofilm helps the
micro-organism stick to the surface so that they can reproduce. As the micro organism cannot affix and cannot reproduce,
it becomes aged and weak.
Micro organisms are susceptible to the gentle biocides associated with the polymer backbone of Sterl STAT. These biocides
are responsible for cell lytic activity. The chemical affect of Sterl STAT allows the polymer backbone to remain attached to the
surface through hydrogen bonds, thus providing
7 days residual protection.
